VOYA ACADEMY

Something is wrong with Africa. WAKE UP!
We returned to the founder’s alma mater, Perfect Praise Comprehensive College, where she studied from JSS1 to JSS3, bringing the Voya Academy team along. Our guest speaker, Orezi Mena, aka The Creative Mena, shared his own secondary school experiences first, setting a foundation the students could relate to.
When it was my turn to speak, one moment stood out. We asked a young boy what he wanted to be when he grew up. At first, he claimed not to understand the question, even after we repeated it several times. When simplified in pidgin, he finally answered, “I just want shop wire.” In other words, he saw fraud as the only path out of survival.
This moment revealed the operating system embedded in many young minds—even in privately owned schools. If this is the mindset in a school with perceived privilege, imagine the state of government schools with fewer resources.
Voya Academy exists to rewire this code. We aim to expand young people’s vision, show them there’s more to life than the illegal or “easy” paths, and inspire them to dig deeper, think differently, and align with values that lead to real, sustainable success.
The way Voya Academy plans to solve this is by continuously reaching as many schools as possible, embedding the values and culture of Voya into these systems. We focus on teaching what truly matters beyond the four walls of classrooms—the culture of consistency, grit, resilience, and the ability to overcome procrastination. These are the foundational tools that set students up for long-term success and equip them to become agents of change in their communities and beyond.
Our approach is not a one-off engagement. Through organized seminars, workshops, and monthly programs, we provide consistent exposure to these values, nurturing a mindset that gradually rewires the cultural code embedded in young people. Over time, this continuous process ensures that the next generation of students grows up aligned with principles that allow them to dream bigger, act bolder, and navigate life with a sense of purpose and direction.
